Chinese Wisteria is a deciduous climber. Lavender coloured flowers arise from bare stems as the light green foliage does appear until the flowers are over. The plant is slow to get established. Traditionally trained with wires to grow on the walls of houses, where it is unlikely to cause any damage due to its non clinging nature. Grow in full sun-partial shade and a light well drained soil. Protect from cold, drying winds. Will tolerate most soil types. Water well and apply a liquid fertiliser during the growing season.
